Richard
Gray, founder of Muraldog and the principal commercial artist
behind Muraldog’s creations has been painting large scale
work since 1995.
After graduating from a fine art
degree from Newcastle University in 1992 he became an apprentice
in a small company specialising in high quality faux finishes in
Santa Barbara, California, USA where he developed his talent for
large scale mural painting. He went on to work for himself on commercial
restaurant interiors and fine art projects, as well as contributing
to community art projects including the annual “ I Madonari” street
drawing festival of Santa Barbara.
Moving back to his native England
in 1998 he started refurbishing pubs and restaurants in and around
south London it is here he began painting large scale landscapes
incorporating the skills of his faux finish training and exercising
his delight with large complex perspective views. He is now working
all over London and the South East and is also looking forward to
future international projects.
The knowledge from his decorating
background as well as his degree and passion for fine art allows
Richard to ensure Muraldog can execute most commercial/residential
projects to a high professional standard.
